In cities with a Chinatown, weekend mornings bring dim sum carts or order sheets, and lines form early at the most popular spots in Asheville; walk-ins are standard and reservations are uncommon outside large banquet restaurants. Regional labels matter: Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, Shanghainese and Taiwanese kitchens cook very differently, so a restaurant's stated region is a better guide to the food than the word "Chinese" alone. Some smaller restaurants in North Carolina are BYOB with no corkage fee; call ahead to confirm. A tip of 15-20% is customary for table service but not expected at counter-order takeout. Spice level, MSG and allergen questions are normal to ask before ordering, and most kitchens are happy to leave an ingredient out or tone down the heat if you mention it when ordering rather than after the food arrives.
Hours are published for 7 days a week. Typical hours are 11:30 amβ3 pm. Came here for a quick bite for lunch on a whim, and was pleasantly surprised by how good the food was! The menu is pretty large and diverse, so I think your experience really depends on what you order. Our waiter was super helpful and honest about what he thought the best dishes on the menu would be. The Sichuan Wontons (which he recommended) are hands down some of the best dumplings Iβve ever had! Iβm from out of town, but if I was a local here I would make it a regular spot for sure.

We have been to Red Ginger several times. It never disappoints. The atmosphere is very tasteful, with realaxed lighting, and well laid out. The service staff is professional, helpful, and friendly. The meals are first class. They are beautifully plated, and taste as good as they look. I would highly recommend Red Ginger.

This Asian fusion restaurant consistently delivers high-quality food and an enjoyable dining experience. The meals have flavor and are well-balanced, the ingredients taste fresh, and the portion sizes are enough to leave you feeling satisfied. One item I always have to order is the spring roll, it's light, perfectly crispy, and packed with flavor. The dipping sauce complements it beautifully and brings all of the flavors together. The atmosphere is comfortable, there's plenty of conversation and energy, creating a relaxed environment without feeling loud or chaotic. It's not one of those overly quiet or stiff restaurants, you can simply enjoy your meal and the company you're with. I've visited more than three times, usually after a long late shift, and the service has been consistent. The staff checks in regularly without being intrusive, making sure everything is going well and providing efficient service. The restaurant is also clean and well-maintained, which adds to the overall positive experience. I tend to order the same meal every visit, and I'm always impressed by the consistency. It tastes just as delicious every single time, which speaks to the quality of the kitchen

Wow, very delicious! I went to share a variety of foods with a friend and everything we got was super great! The scallion pancakes were very soft, but still had a slight crisp around the edges, nice flavor! The steamed BBQ pork buns were good! The Pork Dumplings Shanghai style were super flavorful, I would definitely recommend! The Fried Calamari was very unique with the "chef's seasoning", to me it tasted like a type of yellow curry, it was very good! I would definitely recommend trying out the fried calamari, you won't find anything else quite like it around in a good way! Overall, I would definitely recommend if you are in the area! The service was great and the atmosphere was nice!

I love Dim Sum and they were hit and miss on alot of it. For my birthday dinner tonight I was looking forward to really good Dim Sum. The spicy steamed dumplings as well as the pancakes were a good start. The prices were a little high for the amount you get. The steamed BBQ pork buns were good but two buns for the price of three anywhere else left a bad taste in my mouth. Chive and shrimp dumplings and the crystal shrimp dumplings were over steamed and kinda mushy. Salt and pepper shrimp were the biggest disappointment with only 5 shrimp per order you really feel like you just got ripped off. Also what restaurant serving Dim Sum doesn't offer steamed egg custard buns or tarts? Mango pudding or coconut custard jello? There's got to be better out there.
